The competition, which is growing into a main end of year Sporting activity in the Center of Excellence, did not disappoint once again as it served up a veritable entertainment avenue for revelers.
The event lived up to expectations as fans enjoyed the spectacle of the majestic sun-bathed Eko Atlantic City, venue of the competition, with beautiful music and pretty cheerleaders.
The opening match of the day saw Pepsi Football Academy beach team defeated the Enyimba beach soccer team 6 – 5. PFA youngster, Ajao Adams Adebayo was named as the Most Valuable Player, MVP of the match.
The razzmatazz at the Eko Atlantic was taken to another level in the celebrity match, as former Nigeria internationals led by 1997 African footballer of the year Victor Ikpeba further demonstrated they are still in the thick of the game with a 2-1 win over their entertainers counterparts.
The ex Super Eagles stars, playing with the name Team Ikpeba came from behind to snatch victory after the entertainers, playing with the name Team D'Banj had taken a first quarter lead.
Team Ikpeba which had an array of ex-internationals including Mutiu Adepoju, Ifeanyi Udeze, Victor Agali, goalkeeper Alloy Agu and former Shooting stars legend Akanni.
Also on the stands was the governor of Lagos Akinwunmi Ambode who obviously enjoyed the whole encounter.
Even though the Super Sand Eagles of Nigeria lost 3-8 to Switzerland, many fans still went home smiling after a jolly good day of fun on the beach.
The day's event was wrapped up with the Copa Lagos Fashion Show, as notable designers rocked the runway with colourful swimsuits and beach wear.
