Rurik Jutting's legal team claims the judge made a "fatal error" in his original trial in Hong Kong for killing two Indonesians
By Philip Whiteside, News Reporter
A British banker jailed for life for the gruesome murders of two women has appeared in court to appeal against his conviction.
Rurik Jutting was found guilty in November 2016 of killing Indonesians Sumarti Ningsih, 23, and Seneng Mujiasih, 26, in Hong Kong apartment in 2014.
His lawyer Gerard McCoy told the city's Court of Appeal that the trial judge had made a "fatal error" in his directions to the jurors on whether Jutting's psychiatric disorders constituted a mental abnormality.
Under Hong Kong law, an "abnormality of mind" can be used as a defence against a murder conviction.
Jutting's team also argued the trial judge made a mistake by instructing jurors to come up with the same verdict for both counts, despite the different circumstances of the two deaths.
The Cambridge-educated 32-year-old had met Ms Sumarti through the "casual encounters" section of the Craigslist website. Her body was found in a suitcase on his balcony.
He met his second victim in a Hong Kong bar. Ms Seneng's body was found in a pool of blood on Jutting's living room floor, and her throat had also been cut.
Jutting denied murdering the two women and admitted manslaughter on the grounds of diminished responsibility due to alcohol and drug abuse and sexual disorders.
But the jury rejected the claim and unanimously found the former Bank of America-Merrill Lynch employee guilty of murder.
Jutting wore a blue shirt as he watched the latest proceedings from the dock, and chatted with the three uniformed court officers sitting next to him during the breaks.
He leafed through a bundle of court documents and listened as lawyers made the case to the three-judge panel that the trial judge gave incorrect instructions to the jury on deciding their verdict.
The jury in the original trial heard that the bodies of Ms Seneng and Ms Sumarti were mutilated, with Jutting describing how he tortured and killed them in a series of videos recorded on his phone.
In one video played in court, he said: "My name is Rurik Jutting. About five minutes ago, I just killed, murdered, this woman here."

South Carolina serial killer Todd Kohlhepp claims he has more victims
A South Carolina man who admitted to killing seven people earlier this year has claimed to have more victims whose remains have not been discovered.
In an eight-page letter to the Herald-Journal of Spartanburg, Todd Kohlhepp wrote that he tried to tell investigators about the other killings and informed the FBI, but he said "it was blown off."
"At this point, I really don't see reason to give numbers or locations," Kohlhepp also wrote.
Kohlhepp, 46, was arrested last year after police rescued a woman chained at the neck in a storage container and investigators found a body buried in a shallow grave. The woman told investigators she saw Kohlhepp shoot and kill her boyfriend, 32-year-old Charles David Carter who went with her for a cleaning job on the suspect's property.
In addition to Carter, Kohlhepp also pleaded guilty this past May to killing husband-and-wife Johnny and Meagan Coxie in December 2015, as well as four people at local motorcycle shop in 2003. He is currently serving seven consecutive life terms plus 60 years on kidnapping, sexual assault and other charges. He is not eligible for parole.
At the time of Kohlhepp's sentencing, his attorney told the court there were no other victims. But in his letter to the Herald-Journal, Kohlhepp wrote that his murder trail, "leaves the state and leaves the country."
Kohlhepp moved to South Carolina in 2001 shortly after 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping in Arizona. Authorities there said the then 15-year-old forced a 14-year-old neighbor back to his home at gunpoint, tied her up and raped her.
Anderson Police Capt. Mike Walters told the paper he does not believe Kholhepp is tied to any more local cases, but suspects he may have victims out of state.
"I'm sure there are more. I’m just thinking they’re more likely in Florida or elsewhere," Walters said. "People like him, they want the cops to get the notoriety. They’re always going to throw bait out there often to keep their name out there."
The associated press reported this.

Robert Mugabe sacked from ruling party Zanu-PF
The ruling party in Zimbabwe, Zanu-PF, has sacked the country’s long-time leader, Robert Mugabe.
After a meeting of party leaders held on Sunday, officials said ex-Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who was fired by Mr. Mugabe two weeks ago, has been appointed leader of the party, the BBC reports.
It was the sacking of Mr. Mnangagwa that triggered last week’s takeover of power by the military, thus stopping Mr. Mugabe, 93, from installing his wife, Grace, as leader of Zanu-PF and then president.
Grace was also expelled from the Zanu-PF at Sunday’s meeting.
The Southern Africa Development COmmission, led by officials from South Africa, have been mediating between Mr. Mugabe and the military.
The meetings continue on Sunday and are expected to ensure a peaceful exit of Mr. Mugabe from Zimbabwe.

Kidnapped Unilorin student, made to drink blood, freed for not meeting requirement(photos)
Management of the University of Ilorin has advised students of the institution to be security conscious, saying that a male student of the institution, Omoniyi Olumide, was recently kidnapped by suspected ritualists and forced to drink blood from an unknown source before setting him free.
.
The sub-dean student’s affairs of the institution, Dr Alex Akanmu, warned students against accepting or begging for a lift from strangers in order not to fall prey of suspected ritualists on the prowl.
.
The subdean, who said that the incident occurred two weeks ago at GRA, Ilorin, added that the victim was offered a lift by unknown person who disguised as a good Samaritan after a commercial motorcycle he boarded dropped him off without taking him to his destination, “unknown to the victim that it was a plot against him.”
.
Dr Akanmu also said that the victim on entering the vehicle said that he noticed that two other occupants in the car were unconscious and also suffered the same fate as he suddenly found himself in a ritualist den in Offa town in Kwara State.
.
‘‘From the Offa branch, they transferred him to another branch of the ritualists in Ogbomoso, they said they have enough boys’’, he said.
.
He said the victims were also rejected in Ogbomoso branch on the account that they needed girls and was asked to be set free since he did not suit the purpose for which he was kidnapped.
.
‘‘But that is not the end of the story, they had his nail cut, asked him to drink his own urine and blood from unknown sources,’’ he said.
.
Akanmu said the victim had been reunited with his family after the school management received a distress text message he sent and picked him from where he was dumped around 6 pm on Sunday.

Hero Who Shot and Stopped Texas Mass Shooter Was an NRA Instructor — And That's Not All He Did

Many quickly blamed the National Rifle Association saying that they had “blood on their hands” in the same way they did after the Las Vegas massacre.

Willeford was a neighbor of the church and heard gunfire outside. He grabbed his AR-15 type rifle and went towards the shots in bare feet. With his shooting experience, Willeford was able to engage in gunfire with Kelley and place a bullet between the shooter's small gap in body armor, which ultimately led him to flee the scene to his vehicle.
Willeford then jumped into a stranger's truck and chased the shooter down. Kelley ultimately crashed his vehicle at high speed and then proceeded to shoot himself and commit suicide.
Willeford appeared on ABC in an interview to explain the experience and stated:
"I didn’t have any time, because I kept hearing the shots, one after another, at a time, very rapid shots, just pop, pop, pop. And I knew every one of those shots represented someone, that it was aimed at someone, that they just weren’t random shots, more than likely. I grabbed a handful of ammunition and started loading my magazine.
And I’m trying to survey the situation, not knowing what’s going on; and then I saw a man in a black tactical helmet with a dark-shaded helmet on, and obviously looked to me like it was a bulletproof vest. He had a pistol in his hand, and we exchanged gunfire.
And I was standing behind a pickup truck for cover, and we exchanged fire. He saw me, and I saw him, I’m like, it was surreal to me; it couldn’t be happening. I couldn’t believe it. I know I hit him. He got into his vehicle, and he fired another couple rounds through his side window. When the window dropped, I fired another round at him again.
We chased him down 539, and when we first started chasing him he was out of sight. And the man driving the truck, I found out later his name is Johnny; he was driving at a high rate of sped. We were trying to pass cars to catch up. We called 911 and we were talking to 911.
I was scared for me, and I was scared for every one of them; I was scared for my own family that lived just less than a block away.
I’m no hero; I am not. I think my God, my Lord, protected me and gave me the skills to do what needed to be done. And I just wish I could have got there faster."

CIA Document: Bin Laden Asked his Son Hamza to Move from Iran to Qatar
In one of the documents that the CIA released on Wednesday, slain al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden made it clear that the “Iranians are not to be trusted” despite evidence of strong ties between the terrorist group and Iran.
The document was released as part of 470,000 additional files found in May 2011 when US Navy SEALs burst into Bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, and shot him dead.
The slain al-Qaeda chief’s son Hamza was in Iran when in September 2010, Osama bin Laden wrote a letter to his three sons, including Hamza, as well as one of his wives and grandchildren.
Bin Laden made it clear that the “Iranians are not to be trusted” and he wanted his wife to “leave everything behind,” just in case some sort of tracking device was implanted within her possessions.
He worried about Hamza’s security and suggested that he travel to Qatar, where he could lay low and study.
After Hamza did not take his father’s advice, he made his way into Pakistan. But Bin Laden insisted that the terrorist group’s heir move to Qatar,
Bin Laden’s suspicions of Iran came despite one of the newly released documents showing al-Qaeda's links to Tehran.
The 19-page document recounts an offer by Iran to provide al-Qaeda with “money, arms” and “training in Hezbollah camps in Lebanon, in exchange for striking American interests in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf.”
The very fact that Hamza and other senior figures appear to be able to live under Iranian protection or custody supports claims that Tehran and Bin Laden had a working relationship, analysts have said.

The lawyer says O’Donovan has worked with local social media outlet Magamba TV, whose target audience is youth.
Mugabe last month appointed a minister for cybersecurity, a move criticized by activists as aimed at clamping down on social media users.

U.S. bombers fly over Korean Peninsula before Trump visit
SEOUL, South Korea -- Two U.S. supersonic bombers flew over the Korean Peninsula for bombing exercises that are also a show of force against North Korea ahead of President Donald Trump's first official visit to Asia.
The U.S. Pacific Air Forces said in a statement that two U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers flew from Guam, were joined by Japanese and South Korean fighter jets, and "conducted a sequenced bilateral mission in the vicinity of the Korean peninsula, Nov. 2 (Korea Standard Time)." The statement confirmed that the warplanes flew over South Korea.
The drills simulated attacks on land targets, but didn't involve live weapons, said the official, who did not want to be named, citing office rules.
https://www.cbsnews.com/videos/inside-north-koreas-missiles
North Korea's state media denounced the exercise as a "surprise nuclear strike drill" and says "gangster-like U.S. imperialists" are seeking to ignite a nuclear war.
The North Korean nuclear threat will likely overshadow Mr. Trump's trip to Asia, which starts Sunday in Japan and will include stops in South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.
In recent months, North Korea has tested intercontinental ballistic missiles that could reach the U.S. mainland with further development and has conducted its most powerful nuclear test. It also flew powerful new midrange missiles over Japan and threatened to launch them toward Guam, the U.S. Pacific territory and military hub.
The United States has responded by sending its strategic assets to the region more frequently for patrols or drills. That has angered North Korea, whose foreign minister said in September the North had "every right" to take countermeasures, including shooting down the U.S. warplanes, though many experts doubt it has the actual intent or ability to do so.
Pyongyang's official Korean Central News Agency said Friday that the "U.S. imperialist warmongers" should not act rashly.
"The U.S. imperialists are making last-ditch efforts to check the dynamic advance of the DPRK by deploying their nuclear strategic assets in succession, but its army and people are never frightened at such moves," the report said, referring to North Korea's official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
UN team meets Ohanaeze over South-east tensions
The United Nations has commended the Ohanaeze, apex Igbo socio-cultural group on the role it played in stemming the tide of agitations threatening Nigeria’s unity.
The UN said it was worried about developments in Nigeria, particularly in the South-east but however noted that it stood for a united Nigeria where human rights are respected and not trampled upon.
A report on Vanguard noted that UN Delegates led by Mohamed Ibn Chambas a special representative of Secretary General of UN, Antonio Guterres, on Thursday in Enugu met with the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by its President-General, Nnia Nwodo.
The meeting delved into issues of agitation for a Biafra republic and how to strengthen the unity of Nigeria.
Other chieftains of Ohanaeze at the meeting includes Deputy President-General and former deputy governor of Ebonyi State, Chigozie Ogbu; Enugu State President of Ohanaeze, Alex Ogbonnia among others, the report says.
“Few months ago, we were all getting a bit worried with events and developments in the South-east of Nigeria but thanks to their leadership (Ohanaeze) and their initiatives, they were able to bring together the chiefs and the political leaders and governors and respected persons of South-east and through this intervention, we now see that calm is restored and all are working to advance the one Nigeria agenda.
“The Secretary General believes in this one Nigeria project because he had always said that a united peaceful Nigeria is not only for the people of Nigeria, but indeed for the people of West Africa and for all of Africa. We know the strength the people of South-east bring to Nigeria and to the sub region. There is hardly a single country in West Africa where you will not find enterprising persons from the South-East who are in their own rights economic ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“So our simple message is to encourage the leaders, the elders of the South-east to continue to endeavour to seek ways in which they can work with all other parts of the federation and to strengthen the unity of this country and through a constructive approach to seek dialogue to redress whatever short coming there may be”, Mr. Chambas was quoted as saying.
Mr. Nwodo in his remark described the outcome of the meeting as a fruitful.
“On July 12, 2017, Ohanaeze wrote to the Secretary General of the United Nations about the security infrastructure in Nigeria, particularly as it affects to Ndigbo, which the UN on October 10 responded to the letter, indicating that it will send its representative for West Africa and the Sahel.
“We had very fruitful and frank discussions with Ambassador Chambas. He has assured us that the United Nations represents prevention of conflicts, represents promotion of development in a manner that improves quality of life and prevents resort to conflicts and protects human rights.”

Former Trump Campaign Manager, Paul Manafort, Charged For Conspiracy Against U.S.
The 12-count indictment includes charges of conspiracy against the U.S., conspiracy to launder money, failing to register as foreign agents, and providing false statements to investigators, among other charges.
Paul Manafort, former campaign manager for U.S. President Donald Trump, has been indicted by a federal grand jury alongside his business associate, Richard Gates.
The 12-count indictment includes charges of conspiracy against the U.S., conspiracy to launder money, failing to register as foreign agents, and providing false statements to investigators, among other charges.
The duo were indicted on Friday, October 27, but the case was not unsealed until Monday, October 30, after the defendants agreed to surrender themselves to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Mr. Manafort and Mr. Gates are the first to be indicted in an investigation headed by U.S. special counsel Robert Mueller.
Mr. Manafort, who resigned from his position as President Trump’s campaign chairman in August 2016, has been under investigation for his alleged ties to Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He has also been under investigation for his lobbying on behalf of a pro-Russian Ukrainian political party.
Mr. Mueller announced on Monday that Mr. Manafort laundered a total of $18 million.
“Manafort used his hidden overseas wealth to enjoy a lavish lifestyle in the United States without paying taxes on that income,” the indictment reads.
A long-time associate of Mr. Mueller, Mr. Gates, was charged with transferring over $3 million from offshore accounts.
“In total, more than $75 million flowed through offshore accounts,” the indictment reads.
The two defendants were both charged with making false statements to authorities, including bookkeepers, tax accountants, and legal counsel, the New York Times reports.
The FBI raided Mr. Manafort’s Virginia residence in July following allegations that he had sought to launder millions of dollars in payments from Ukraine.
Man ready to make baby with sex robot
The inventor of a sex robot, Sergi Santos, has revealed he was ready to make babies with his creation, Samantha.
Santos who lives with his wife, Maritsa Kissamitaki, in their Barcelona home says he is ready to take the next step with his plastic partner and boasts that it would be “extremely simple”.
Santos in an interview with UKSUN made this shocking revelation where he said he nurtured the idea that people would soon start having a family with robots.
Sergi said, “I can make them [sex robots] have a baby. It’s not so difficult. I would love to have a child with a robot.
“Using the brain I have already created, I would program it with a genome so he or she could have moral values, plus concepts of beauty, justice and the values that humans have.
“Then to create a child with this robot, it would be extremely simple. I would make an algorithm of what I personally believe about these concepts, and then shuffle it with what she thinks and then 3D print it.”
The 39-year-old says having regular sex with his cyborgs is not detrimental to his marriage – in fact, he claims, it has “improved” their relationship.
His android, dubbed ‘Samantha’, has the ability to create emotional closeness and progress through different modes from romantic to family to sexy.
The ‘Samantha’ sex robot was presented on camera in Barcelona in March and is said to respond to being touched in different areas of her body.
According to him, he was designed to be interactive

Lagos : Married lovers found dead in vehicle
Abisogun Leigh Street, Ogba, Lagos State was the cynosure of all eyes on Sunday when two apparent lovebirds were found dead in a Toyota Corolla parked by the roadside.
Although the names of the deceased had yet to be revealed, they were said to have been respectively married.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the man was found in the driver’s side, half naked, with his private parts showing, while the woman, who wore a gown, reclined in the passenger seat next to him.
The scene of the incident was behind the headquarters of the Area G Police Command, Ogba, Lagos State.
Our correspondent gathered that a tricycle rider, who was plying the street, noticed that the headlamps of the car were on around 8.30am.
When the light remained on about 30 minutes after, the rider reportedly drew the attention of an executive member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers to the car.
It was gathered that the executive member and the rider went to the scene, peeped into the car and observed that the lovers were motionless. They were said to have immediately alerted the police at the command.
The car had been moved to the premises of the Area G Police Command when our correspondent visited the scene around 2.30pm, while the corpses of the duo were said to have been deposited in a morgue.
The NURTW member, Adewale Sofuyi, told PUNCH Metro that he alerted the Area G Command to the incident.
He said, “A tricycle rider approached me around 9am. He said the headlamps of a Toyota Corolla by the roadside were on and that he had knocked at the car door without getting response from the occupants.
“I followed him to the scene and confirmed what he said. The man wore a shirt only; he did not cover his private parts. The woman was in a gown. They were both in the front seats. The seat where the woman sat had been adjusted so that she reclined on it. From all indications, they had had sex with each other before their deaths.
“I went to report at the area command and some policemen followed me. When they opened the car, a bottle of an alcoholic brand – Best – was found there. Their phones were also recovered. They moved them to the back seats and drove to the station. The police contacted their families through their phones.”
Sofuyi stated that when families and relatives of the deceased arrived at the command, they were shocked to know they were in an amorous relationship.
“According to the families, both of them lived in the same building in Ogba. The woman’s husband said he had suspected that she had extra-marital affairs, but decided not to confront her.
“The man’s wife is a nursing mother. She cried profusely. I learnt that the man’s father is the landlord of the house where they both lived.”
Our correspondent, who went to the Area G Command, was told by the policemen at the entrance that the Area Commander was not around.
“She (Area Commander) went to the police command headquarters in Ikeja over the incident. You can come back,” one of the policemen said.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the deaths.
He, however, said he had yet to be fully briefed on the matter.
He said, “They (the lovers) were taken to a hospital, where they were confirmed dead. Autopsies will be conducted on them, while investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of death. I don’t have their names for now.”

EFCC returns 11.9m stolen by RCCG deacon
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has handed over two cheques totalling N11.9m to a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Rivers State.
The amount was said to have been stolen by a deacon of the RCCG, Cyril Idakwoji.
According to Punch the South-South Zonal Head of the EFCC, Mr. Ishaq Salihu, explained on Wednesday that Idakwoji, a former employee of Access Bank, was the account officer of the church for the bank.
He said the suspect diverted the church funds to private use instead of transferring them to the church’s bank account.
Handing over the cheques to the pastor-in-charge of Province 4 of the RCCG, Salihu said, “He (suspect) forged the letterheads of the church’s region 5 and the signature of the pastor in charge of the region. He also forged the signature of the church’s accountant to execute his criminal schemes in the RCCG.”
The stolen funds were paid back by the bank, which had sacked the suspect.
Speaking after receiving the cheques from the anti-graft agency, the Pastor of Province 4 of the RCCG, Port Harcourt, Mr. Mark Barango, commended the EFCC for ensuring that the money was recovered.
Expressing surprise that Idakwoji, who was a deacon in the RCCG, could be involved in fraud, Barango said, “He (suspect) was the account officer assigned by the bank to us. He was also a member of the church. EFCC is an agent of transformation. I thank the EFCC for helping us to recover the money.”
Salihu also said the EFCC had earlier recovered N36m belonging to Jephthah International School, which was also stolen by Idakwoji.
Idakwoji, according to the EFCC zonal head, was also the account officer to the school.
Salihu said the stolen money was paid back in bonds by the bank to the private school through the EFCC.
He noted that the bank had reported the employee to the EFCC immediately it discovered the fraud.

According to the family, the deceased was already recovering from the Monkeypox disease he contacted in Yenagoa before this sad incident.
Family sources are, however, blaming the management of NDUTH for negligence.
According to the family: “The late victim was in the hospital for treatment. And he was responding to treatment. But come to think about it, how did it happen? The Monkeypox victims were supposed to be in an isolated arera.
“Where were the doctors, nurses and other staff? Where did he get the rope? The hospital management has a question to answer,” a family member said.
The suicide victim, according to family sources had no record of mental case.
Contacted on the development, a staff of the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, who pleaded anonymity, denied any act of negligence on the part of the hospital.
The Bayelsa State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Ebitimitula Etebu, had on Monday confirmed that the victim did not die as a result of Monkeypox disease and that it was professionally and ethically wrong to reveal his identity.

Beware! 7 key ways monkeypox can be transmitted
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has announced that there is a suspected outbreak of a viral disease called monkeypox in Bayelsa state.
In the press release, members of the public were urged to remain calm, alert and know the signs and symptoms of the disease
We earlier reported that a medical doctor and 10 others were down with the disease and were being quarantined in an isolation centre at the Niger Delta University Teaching Hospital, Okolobiri, in Yenagoa local government area of the state.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention has listed the major facts about the disease. Monkeypox is not a newly discovered disease, it has been known for decades, although relatively rare.
Dr Charles-Davies OA, a medical doctor and founder of 25 Doctors, a platform where you can ask doctors questions online, spoke to NAIJ about the ways the disease is transmitted.
Here are 7 different ways the disease is transmitted:
1. Contact with infected monkeys
Monkeypox is caused by a virus. The virus has been previously isolated in animals like monkeys, rats and squirrels.
Human outbreaks are more likely to be spread from infected animals than from a human to another human. Close contact with infected monkeys can spread the virus to humans.
Monkeys are sometimes hunted in rural areas, and touching an infected monkey, even a dead monkey can make a person contract the disease.
2. Contact with infected rodents
Rodents like rats and squirrels can transmit the monkeypox virus to human beings if they are infected. The virus is present in the blood, body fluids and secretions of infected rodents.
Close contact with these mammals when infected can increase the chances of a human outbreak.
3. Bites and scratches from infected animals
The virus is usually found in the blood and body fluids of infected animals including saliva. A bite or scratch can cause skin breakage and lead to the transfer of the virus from the infected animal to a human.
4. Eating inadequately cooked meat
In some parts of Nigeria, rodents are consumed as ‘bush-meat’. In fact, it is a known delicacy. Eating rodents during a monkeypox outbreak can increase the likelihood of contracting the disease, because a dead infected rodent can still contain the virus.
As a rule, all meat should be properly cooked, as this can decrease the likelihood of getting infected, thorough cooking kills the virus.
5. Contact with respiratory secretions of an infected person
Monkeypox can be spread by respiratory droplets or secretions. An example is a sneeze. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, thousands of respiratory droplets are released into the air.
This is why infected persons are usually treated in isolation wards to prevent the transmission of the virus to members of the public.
6. Contact with blood, body fluids, rash of an infected person
Contact with body fluids of an infected person can spread the virus. Examples of body fluids are saliva, tears and urine. Also, touching a monkeypox rash can increase the chances of getting infected with the disease.
This puts health workers at particular risk of getting infected. It was reported that a doctor was also infected by the current outbreak in Bayelsa.
Health professionals often come in contact with blood and body fluids of ill patients while caring for them and hence are at a relatively increased risk of getting infected by the virus.
7. Contact with clothing of an infected person
Apart from direct physical contact, the clothing or materials used by infected person can lead to an indirect transmission.
The virus can be found on materials like clothes and bedsheets even when the person has removed them or isn’t lying down on the sheets. Close contact with these materials can increase the chances of being infected.
As a means of avoiding contracting monkeypox, the federal ministry of health has advised Nigerians to avoid consuming bushmeat and dead animals.
Professor Adewole, minister of health, gave the advise to Nigerians on Thursday, October 5.

Bob Corker: Trump puts US on course for 'World War Three'
US President Donald Trump could put the US "on the path to World War Three", the Republican chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has warned.
Senator Bob Corker said Mr Trump was treating the presidency like "a reality show".
The retiring Tennessee lawmaker also said White House staff struggle to "contain" Mr Trump.
Mr Corker's comments are a remarkable attack on a sitting president from a member of his own party.
Mr Corker was considered for the job of secretary of state by Mr Trump last year but they have since fallen out.
The senator told the New York Times in a telephone interview on Sunday he was concerned about the president's conduct.
"I don't think he appreciates that when the president of the United States speaks and says the things that he does, the impact that it has around the world, especially in the region that he's addressing," he said.
Mr Corker suggested the president - who has repeatedly baited nuclear-armed North Korea - could put the US on course for "World War Three".
"I don't know why the president tweets out things that are not true," he added.
"You know he does it, everyone knows he does it, but he does."
"I know for a fact that every single day at the White House, it's a situation of trying to contain him," Mr Corker told the newspaper.
The ill-tempered exchange began on Sunday morning, when Mr Trump tweeted that Mr Corker had begged the president to endorse him for re-election.
Mr Trump said he refused. He also accused Mr Corker of being "largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal".
Mr Corker, who denied the president's account, responded: "It's a shame the White House has become an adult day care center.
"Someone obviously missed their shift this morning."
Mr Trump is this week expected to de-certify the Obama administration's 2015 agreement to curb Iran's development of nuclear weapons, a deal he has repeatedly condemned.
Last month Mr Corker - who has said the Iran deal should not be torn up - announced he would not seek re-election at next year's mid-term elections.
Mr Corker and Mr Trump previously clashed in August when the senator criticised the president's response to clashes that month between white supremacists and anti-fascist demonstrators in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mr Trump's attack followed Mr Corker's expression of support last week for Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who is widely seen as having been sidelined by the president.
Mr Corker said America's top diplomat was "in an incredibly frustrating place", where he "ends up not being supported in the way that I hope a secretary of state would be supported".
On Wednesday Mr Tillerson denied rumours that he was about to resign, amid reports he had referred to the president as a moron.
Peter Crouch: Stoke striker holds Premier League record for most headers
Stoke striker Peter Crouch has entered the 2018 Guinness World Records book for the most headed goals scored in the Premier League.
His tally of 51 goals with his head is five more than former Blackburn and Newcastle striker Alan Shearer managed.
Crouch, 36, has scored 105 Premier League goals in 436 appearances across six different clubs.
"If you are a centre-forward, you should be in the box, ready for the ball," said Crouch.
"That is the way I have always played my game and that will never change. I see centre-forwards hanging around outside the box and it blows my mind, I just can't get my head around it."
Crouch scored the winner in Stoke's last game against Southampton.
